Garmin GPSMap64 and Maidenhead locators

Recently I acquired a used Garmin GPSMap64 (to replace my even more used eTrex Vista HCx) and I wondered if it’s possible to make it display Maidenhead locators…
Turns out - yes, it is possible. As with the eTrex, one can set one of the data fields on the Trip Computer screen to display a locator. Many thanks to 2E0YRE for describing his findings.
The linked post states that it’s not possible to save this setting to the profile. In case of my unit, it’s not true - I could save the position format in the new profile I created and it switches when I switch profiles.
I created a new profile and changed Main Menu -> Position Format -> Position Format from hddd*mm'ss.s'' to Maidenhead.
Now when I switch profiles, the format switches. On my Radio profile, Trip Computer shows me a data field with my QTH
locator. The map pointer, as pointed out by 2E0YRE, shows QTH locators when a map point is selected.
When I go back to the default Recreational profile though, everything changes back to degrees and minutes. No fiddling
before an excursion, just a profile change.
